"Moraine — Blue Glacier Abstract"

$325.00

A bird's eye view of ice in motion.

This is not water — it's deep time. Layers of glacial blue, crevasse white, slate gray and iron-oxide rust grind and fold together, just like a mountain glacier carrying its moraine — the crushed rock, sediment and ancient earth it has scraped from the valley walls over millennia.

That diagonal slash of burnt sienna and umber cutting across the composition is the moraine itself — the memory of the mountain, frozen in the ice. Around it, cobalt and cerulean fracture into white, where the sun hits fresh snow and the ice compresses into that impossible, almost ultraviolet blue you only see in Alaska or Iceland.

Textured, cold, and strangely warm at the same time — like looking down from a plane over the Juneau Icefield. The white floater frame holds it like a specimen of the Arctic, a small, perfect window onto a landscape that is disappearing.

Medium: Mixed, acrylic pour and brush

Palette: Indigo, periwinkle, slate, burnt sienna, rust, copper, brick red, lavender

Vibe: Moody, organic geology

Dimensions: 22 × 18 × 3
