Some nights at the beach, the moon hangs so low and so gold it looks like you could reach out and touch it.
That's this painting.
I started with a storm of color — midnight blues pouring into turquoise, teal bleeding into violet, hints of magenta and seafoam swirling like wind and water and sky all at once. Little flecks of gold and white like stars getting caught in the current.
Then that moon. Thick, textured gold, glowing like a lantern in the dark. Not flat — you can see the craters, the brushwork, the light spilling out around it.
And at the bottom, quiet and still — three palmettos in silhouette. Just black against all that light. The stillness after the color storm. They anchor it. They make it feel like home, like South Carolina, like standing on a porch at night and looking up.
It's small — only 13.25" x 18" — a tiny jewel. That's the point. It's not trying to be a big statement. It's a little window of night magic for a white wall in a bright beach room.
